Mountain rescue in Japan is not free, so if you're ever in need of help it can get expensive fast. Average cost is around 400.000Yen (3000USD)

For residents of Japan we recomend COCO HELI which comes with a rescue beacon. We personally use this insurance. The price of 5500Y anually is also very resonable.
