Ontakesan 3067 is an active volcano at the border of Gifu and Nagano. The volcanic plateau is huge with multiple peaks, huts and lakes.

Norikuradake is an active volcano and scenic dayhike in Nagano. The hike is easy to access by bus and suitable for beginners.

Kashimayaridake (鹿島槍ヶ岳) is a strenuous dayhike in the Northern Alps. The peak has beautiful views and lots of elevation gain.
